What is rat proofing, and why is it better than just laying poison?

Rat proofing (also known as pest exclusion) involves physically sealing all potential entry points into your property. While traps and poisons manage an existing infestation, they don't stop new rats from moving in. Proofing provides a permanent solution by cutting off ingress points, such as uncapped drain lines, gap gaps around utility pipes, weep vents, and missing airbrick covers.
